Sarcophyton Green Toadstool Coral Frag

Sarcophyton corals, commonly known as Toadstool Leathers, are hardy and easy-going soft corals that make a great addition to almost any reef tank. They're known for their mushroom-shaped appearance and long polyps that create plenty of movement.

LIGHTING

Low to moderate lighting is ideal, although they can adapt to a wide range of light levels.

FLOW

Moderate water flow works best. Good flow helps keep the coral clean and supports healthy 

FEEDING

Toadstool Leathers get most of their nutrition from light and dissolved nutrients in the water, so direct feeding is usually not necessary.

PLACEMENT

They can be placed on the sand bed or rockwork and generally adapt well to different areas of the tank.

WATER QUALITY

Sarcophytons are quite forgiving, but they still appreciate stable water parameters and good overall water quality.

TANK MATES

They are generally peaceful but can release chemical compounds that may affect nearby corals. Running activated carbon and allowing some space between corals can help reduce any issues.

Don't be alarmed if your Toadstool occasionally closes up and develops a shiny film over its surface. This is a normal shedding process that helps it remove algae and debris before reopening.
