Torch Corals are one of the most popular LPS corals in the reef hobby, loved for their long flowing tentacles and vibrant colours. They add plenty of movement to a reef tank and can become a real showpiece when happy.

LIGHTING
Moderate lighting is usually ideal. Torch Corals can adapt to a range of lighting conditions but generally do best when not exposed to excessively intense light.

FLOW
Moderate, indirect flow is best. You want the tentacles to gently sway in the current rather than being blasted by strong flow.

FEEDING
Torch Corals get most of their energy from light, but they can benefit from occasional feedings of coral foods, mysis shrimp, or other small meaty foods.

PLACEMENT
Place them where they have plenty of room to expand. Their tentacles can extend well beyond the skeleton and need space to move freely.

WATER QUALITY
Stable water parameters are essential. Consistent alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity, and temperature will help keep them healthy and growing.

TANK MATES
Give Torch Corals plenty of space from neighbouring corals. They can be quite aggressive and may sting nearby corals with their long sweeper tentacles.

Overall, Torch Corals are a fantastic addition to a reef tank, offering stunning colour and movement. With stable conditions, moderate flow, and a bit of room to themselves, they can thrive and become a standout feature in your aquarium
